Duong Dong Area

If you’re unsure about where to stay in Phu Quoc, consider choosing accommodations in the Duong Dong area first.

Staying in Duong Dong significantly reduces the chances of making a bad choice.

Phu Quoc covers an area of 574 km², making it the second-largest island in Vietnam after Jeju Island.

Since there is no public transportation in Phu Quoc, you’ll often rely on taxis or Grab. Duong Dong is centrally located, minimizing travel time and costs to any tourist spot on the island.

On the other hand, if you stay at the northern or southern ends of the island, it will take at least an hour to travel to the opposite side, costing over 21 USD for a one-way trip in a 4-seater car.

So, a round trip could cost you at least 42 USD in transportation alone. To save on these costs, you can use shuttle buses.

These buses to Vinpearl Safari or VinWonders in the north and the Phu Quoc Cable Car in the south all pass through Duong Dong.

Shuttle buses to Sun World Cable Car start and end at the Seashells Hotel in Duong Dong and do not extend to Ong Lang, so you’ll need to rely on taxis or Grab.
